Creating a Bibliography
To Create a Bibliography in RefWorks:

  1. Enter in all your citations into RefWorks by hand or by Exporting Citations in (see directions below).
  2. Click on the Bibliography Tab in RefWorks.
  3. Select your citation style (i.e. APA, MLA, Chicago, etc)
  4. Select "File format type" and change to Word or whatever word processing software you use and select what citations you would like to include.  Note, the easiest way to do this is put all the citations you need for your assignment into one folder and select that folder.
  5. Click "Create bibliography" - Note Refworks will open Word, or your word processing documents in a new window.  If pop-up blocker is enabled it will not open and a message will say download or email it to yourself.  On your home computer you can allow pop-ups from Refworks by editing your Internet Options.
  6. Please note, Refworks is not perfect, you should check over your bibliography to make sure everything is correct. Also, if you are using a style method that requires date accessed for internet and database sources you will need to create a filter on your RefWorks account.
